Casino Regulatory Authority of Singapore (CRA)

General Counsel

The Legal Division advises the CRA Board and CRA Management on all legal matters pertaining to the authority’s functions and powers, and on the formulation of regulatory policies pertaining to the casinos.

The General Counsel is responsible for charting the functions of the Legal Division to enable CRA to effectively discharge its statutory functions, and ensuring a robust legal regulatory framework that is coherent and consistent with the regulatory policies of CRA.  The General Counsel safeguards the legal interests of the authority in carrying out its regulatory functions, provides professional and competent legal advice to the CRA Board and its staff, and builds strong networks with counterparts in local and foreign law enforcement agencies and gambling regulatory authorities.

Requirements

The candidate should have:

  • a good Law degree and be qualified to advise on Singapore Laws, with at least 10 years’ experience as in-house legal counsel or in private practice
  • an active interest in people development and interacting with persons from diverse professional backgrounds
  • proven ability in leading and developing an in-house legal department or a team of lawyers in private practice
  • an interest in developing a robust regulatory framework for a fast-paced industry
