Doing Good: Stepping Up for Transnational Children

After their Vietnamese mother passed away, leaving them with no caregiver in Vietnam, two young children came to Singapore to live with their Singaporean father. With no Singaporean citizenship or residency status, the children did not have access to Singapore’s formal education system. They faced the threat of deportation and separation from their only family member.

Watch Anna Luu, a youth worker from Oasis BRMC Mission and Dinesh Dhillon, a volunteer lawyer with Law Society Pro Bono Services, talk about this case and how migrant children are vulnerable to the multiple deprivations of rights and services even in a society like ours.
